Free places to host your 360° photos
Last updated 25 September 2026
360 Snap doesn't store your photos — each room in a tour is a link to a photo you host yourself. That keeps the price low and your files in your hands. Any of these free services works; we've checked each one allows its images to be shown inside a 360° viewer.
Dropbox
Easiest if you already use it
- Upload your panoramas to a Dropbox folder.
- Click Share → Copy link on each photo.
- Paste the link into 360 Snap as it is — we turn it into a direct image link for you.
Keep the files shared; if you delete or unshare them, those rooms stop loading.
Cloudinary
Fast image delivery, built for the web
- Create a free Cloudinary account.
- Open the Media Library and upload your panoramas.
- Click a photo and copy its URL (it starts with https://res.cloudinary.com/…).
Free plans limit the size of each file — if a panorama is refused, export it at 6000 × 3000.
ImageKit
Similar to Cloudinary, with a free plan
- Create a free ImageKit account.
- Upload your panoramas in the Media Library.
- Copy the file's URL (https://ik.imagekit.io/…).
GitHub
Free, a little more technical
- Create a free GitHub account and a new public repository.
- Choose Add file → Upload files, and upload your panoramas.
- Open a photo and copy the page address — 360 Snap converts it to the raw image link.
Public repositories can be seen by anyone, so only upload photos meant to be public.
Your own website
If you have hosting already, upload the photos there and paste their addresses. Your server needs to allow other sites to display the images (the Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * header) — 360 Snap tells you straight away if it doesn't.
What doesn't work
- Google Drive, Google Photos, iCloud, OneDrive — their share links open a web page, not the image itself.
- Imgur — not available in the UK.
- Social media and chat apps (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) — they shrink photos and their links expire.
Tips for great-looking rooms
- Use the 2:1 JPEG your camera or app exports (equirectangular), ideally 6000 × 3000 to 8000 × 4000.
- Keep each file under about 15 MB so tours load quickly on phones.
- Name files after the room (e.g.
living-room.jpg) — 360 Snap uses the name for the room.
